Commissioned by The Conservancy Association, POINTSMAN has curated an exhibition on the theme of trees.

Taking Sham Shui Po as the starting point, we invited creative units to re-observe the existing resources in the district and uncover the secret microcosm of the area, through which we can glimpse the ecological system of trees and their co-existence.

The artworks observe various organisms inhabiting the artificial environment; the industrial components mimicking the forms of trees; and document the community's life and the tree's journey together. The works examine from different perspectives how the community and nature interact, focusing on the micro-ecology around the trees, and jointly explore the symbolic significance and functions of trees in the community.

“Home” is constructed by human beings and various non-human entities, and the environment will change with evolving needs, while the ecology will continue to circulate and be redefined.

Based on the exhibition theme, an interactive word game has been designed to guide the audience into an artificial paper forest through questions and answers.

Seven Trees tells the story of seven organisms interacting with trees: how do fungi, parasitic plants, and insects co-exist with trees, and what is the ecological balance in the process?

Each ending of the story will be linked to a tree in Sham Shui Po, and step by step, the intricate relationship with the tree will be explored.
