TSE Ming-chong, YU Wai-luen, HO Siu-kee, TAM Wai-ping travelled together to the Gobi Desert in late 2017 and documented what they experienced and reflected on during the trip in the artworks they produced. “The Crossing between East and West” is a collection of their works in response to the Gobi trip, the intersection between east and west. Having studied and practiced art against both Chinese and Western backgrounds, they explore the many facets of cultural exchange based on their own experience.

The exhibition is an extension of the four artists’ art making in the past years. From four different perspectives, namely contact, content, context and concept, each of them reflects on his own journey of art studies in both the East and West, and examines his understanding of art and life as an artist.
