轉角:重新想像大角咀
公共藝術裝置《大樹好乘涼》
The public art piece "Stories under the Canopies" created by artist Chan Sai-Iok, explores the community experience of Tai Kok Tsui through interactions with twenty-one residents, delving into this area of old and new transitions. The work features wall murals on residential buildings that capture the impression of homeowners, reflecting the area's past economy based on hardware industry and its tranformation into a residential neighborhood. The artist selected seven streets named after trees, symbolizing the sharing of life stories under their shade, and installed metallic trees in gold and silver, representing the community's memories and changes. Overall, the piece aims to showcase the history and present of Tai Kok Tsui, fostering connections and dialogue within the community.
