Hong Kong School Uniforms Past and Present
香港校服今昔
The exhibition showcased both uniforms and accessories in different eras. School uniforms not only reinforced students’ identity, they represented our reckless youth. Ultimately, it will become a carrier of our own history.
Echoing the history of Hong Kong, where people used to hang their clothes on bamboo rods, the team recalled such elements of fabrics and bamboo rods as a representation of time. The team projected different iconic styles of uniform on a blank canvas. Technology, words and old photos complimented each other.
Perhaps, the day we graduated from school would be the last day we ever see a blackboard; Just like the one uniform that no longer fits, it all eventually belongs to the past.
